Another spectacular vintage Rolex that I recently acquired from a private collection. Here we have a superb example of the World’s first waterproof watch, the Rolex “Cushion” Oyster. Of course, today this watch would not be suitable for use in the water, but this is the model that Rolex marketed back in the 1920’s as the first watch that could be worn whilst swimming.This particular model boasts a beautiful white and un-damaged porcelain dial, Rolex signed, with Roman hour markers and screw down front case.The rear case is also screw down and is beautifully signed as per images below. Rolex patented “lock down” crown also present. This watch is absolutely immaculate in every way.I have seen lesser examples of this model sell for more than £6,000 in fancy London specialist shops.
